Mac Keith Press has recently published a new book: Extremely Preterm Birth and its Consequences: The ELGAN Study edited by Olaf Dammann, Alan Leviton, Thomas Michael O’Shea and Nigel Paneth. The book identifies potentially modifiable risk factors and pathways leading to a broad range of neurodevelopmental impairments in middle childhood, as well as to other conditions such as asthma, obesity, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder.

As the year comes to an end and the festive season draws closer, it is time for us to take a well-earned break. It has been a difficult and sombre year for us all, which has seen the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A 5-days training course “Evidence based medicine and research in rehabilitation of childhood disabilities» has been organized on July 15-19, 2019 as a University of Pisa Summer School by the European Academy of Childhood Disability, with the support of the IRCCS Fondazione Stella Maris.

After a careful consideration, we would like to inform you that the on-site EACD meeting in Bruges will be postponed to 2024, and will be replaced next year by a new virtual meeting: EACD Europe 2021!
Spastic Diplegia–Bilateral Cerebral Palsy was written by Lily Collison, the parent of an adult son with CP, and medical sciences graduate. It was published this year by Gillette Children's Healthcare Press and all proceeds go to CP research.
The COVID-19 pandemic has in many parts of the world made it necessary to impose strict restrictions to reduce the spread of the disease and to avoid overwhelming healthcare services. These restrictions and the concerns regarding the COVID-19 illness have had an immense impact on individuals with a childhood disability and their families, and on the professionals working with them.
